Each milliliter contains: procaine penicillin 200 mg, Dihydrostreptomycin
Sulfate 250 mg
Appearance: A white to off-white liquid suspension for parenteral
administration.
【Function and Use】 Procaine Penicillin + Dihydrostreptomycin Sulfate
Injection is suitable for cattle, horses, pigs and sheep to treat infections
caused by or related to organisms that are sensitive to Penicillin or
Streptomycin. These include: Cryptobacter pyogenes, Rhodopsin, Klebsiella
pneumoniae, Listeria, Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida,
Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and Salmonella. The combination of procaine
penicillin and Dihydrostreptomycin is particularly useful in the treatment of
mixed infections involving Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
【Usage and Dosage】
Shake container before use.
The recommended daily dose for cattle, horses, pigs and sheep is 8 mg of
procaine penicillin and 10 mg of Dihydrostreptomycin sulfate per kilogram of
body weight, with 1 ml of procaine penicillin and streptomycin per 25 kg of
body weight. The dose should be given by deep intramuscular injection once
daily for up to three consecutive days. The maximum dose administered at
one site should not exceed 15 ml for horses, 6 ml for cattle, 3 ml for sheep and
1.5 ml for pigs.
【Withdrawal Period】Animals shall NOT be slaughtered for human
consumption during the treatment period.
Sheep: Milk – Sheep that are not used to produce milk for human
consumption. Meat – 31 days. Cow: Milk – 60 hours. Milk intended for human
consumption should NOT be consumed during treatment. Meat – 23 days.
Pig: Meat – 18 days.
Horse: Horse not intended for human consumption. Treated horses must NOT
be slaughtered for human consumption.
【Adverse Reactions】 Contraindications in known cases of penicillin allergy.
In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur, and very rarely, these reactions
can be fatal. In rare cases, administration of this product in Suckling and
fattening pigs may cause transient fever, vomiting, shivering, lethargy and
physical in-coordination. Additionally, vulvar discharge may be associated
with abortion in pregnant sows and gilts. Palpable but transient local
reactions may occur at the site of intramuscular administration in horses.
Care should be taken not to exceed the recommended dose.
【Precautions】Care should be taken to avoid accidental self-injection. If you
accidentally self-inject , seek medical attention immediately.
Penicillin and Cephalosporins may cause sensitization after injection,
inhalation, ingestion, or skin contact. Sensitivity to Penicillin may lead to
cross-sensitivity to Cephalosporins and vice versa. Allergic reactions to these
substances are sometimes serious.
- Do not handle this product if you know you are sensitive, or if you have
been advised not to use such preparations.
- Handle this product carefully to avoid contact and take all recommended
precautions.
- If you develop symptoms, such as a rash, after exposure, you should seek
medical advice and present it to your doctor.
Swelling of the face, lips, eyes, or difficulty breathing are more serious
symptoms that require urgent medical attention.
- Wash your hands after use.
【Storage】 Store in a cool place, away from light. Use within 28 days of
discontinuation. Discard unused materials.
